What’s the role about
To support operations across multiple payroll streams, working along-side the Payroll Supervisor and Payroll Assistant, under the guidance of the Payroll Manager.
Who you are
- Significant UK payroll processing experience
- Experienced in USA payroll operations and compliance
- Proven experience with HCM/HRIS and Payroll systems (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors, Workday, Oracle Cloud HCM, ADP Workforce Now, Dayforce)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Critical thinker and ability to provide thoughtful feedback
- Proven experience with variable hour/timesheet-based payroll processing
- Strong understanding of shift patterns and associated payroll calculations
- Previous experience in retail sector payroll, highly desirable
- Familiarity with UK pension administration
- Experience with payroll process improvement initiatives
- Experience with timesheet system implementation or optimisation
- Knowledge of absence management and leave calculations for variable hour employees
- Adaptable to changing systems and processes
- Team player with strong collaborative skills
- Confidence to challenge existing processes
- Comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
What you’ll be doing
- Manage and execute monthly payroll for Head Office staff in the UK
- Supporting US Retail payroll (weekly and fortnightly), ensuring that it is accurate and submitted on time
- Assist with the processing of UK Retail payroll when needed to ensure balanced
workload and provide coverage across the team - Review and validate paid absence calculations and leave entitlement records
- Support pension administration processes
- Contribute to maintaining data integrity in HCM system
- Proactively look to improve systems and processes
- Provide feedback on system and process changes when requested
- Follow established procedures to maintain compliance with UK payroll legislation
- Generate standard payroll reports as needed
- Serve as the first point of contact for payroll queries, resolving issues independently where possible and escalating complex matters to the Payroll Manager when necessary
